CWMNI is the name of the community regeneration partnership for the villages of Blaenrhondda, Blaencwm, Treherbert,Tynewydd and Penyrenglyn and helps develops solutions to community needs by using the experience of local people alongside that of the professional agencies.
The name CwmNi was chosen following a public competition during the spring of 2002.
Funded under the Welsh Assembly Governments Communities First Programme, as an organisation we aim to help bring people together to work through local problems and solutions.
The CwmNi team already works closely with local residents and key agencies and these include the council, police and health authority and voluntary sector organisation's such as Valleys Kids.
In fact the CwmNi team will work with anyone who has a positive contribution to make to improving the area and to providing better local community services.
Within CwmNi there are 5 Theme Groups set up & These are:
Health & Wellbeing; Environment & Housing; Business & Economy; Education & Youth and Life Long Learning; and Community Safety.
These groups will look at developing local actions for community needs in each theme. The groups meet monthly and are open to residents from the CwmNi area and to professional agencies who want to help us develop new ways of tackling local problems.
